Cloteen Layne, 81, Candy Maker
Cloteen Layne, 81, (nee Case) of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Layne was born in Honaker, KY on June 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Issac Lee and Rosa B. (nee Steele) Case.
She was a member of Toledo Road Church of Christ, Sheffield Township.
Mrs. Layne worked as a candy maker at Faroh's Candy for over three decades. She then worked part time for Aramark Foods in the Lorain City schools. She enjoyed her pet beagles, Chance & Spud, cooking; especially known for her fried chicken and was an avid bowler in her youth.
Mrs. Layne is survived by a son Randall L. Layne, of Lorain, grandchildren Barbara (Gregg) Brestovansky, David (Victoria) Layne, Jason (Mada) Layne, great grandchildren Angela Donahue, Scott Layne, Anne Gray, Christopher Layne, Sebastiano Layne, Giovanna Layne, Ty Brestovansky and two step grand
children Adam Aponte, Jade Aponte-Ardo, one great great grandson Braeden Buck, sisters Gladys (Audis "R.B." ) Hall, and Anna Lee (Clinton "Tiny") Clark, both of New London.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Layne on Dec 17, 1991, sisters Jackie Armstrong, Verlie Oney, Taba Hall, and a brother Frank Case.
Friends may call on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Minister Bob Eddy, Mr. James Hiser and Mr. Randy Stewart, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
