Helen Kunch, 79, Secretary & Floor Clerk

She was born April 16, 1932 in Marianna, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain area for over 50 years.

After raising her children, Helen attended Lorain County Community College and earned an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science.

She worked at Southview High School in Lorain as a secretary for 10 years during the late 80's to mid 90's. Later, she worked at Super Kmart as a floor clerk for 7 years before retiring.

Helen was involved in the creative arts and was a member of the Quilting Guild and a painting and gardening club. She was a member of Al Anon.

She is survived by her children Vernal Garufi (Michael) of Elyria, Virginia Kunch, DVM (Chad Culley) of Anchorage, Alaska, Dominic Kunch (Traci Gannon) of Cleveland and Nicholas Kunch of Lorain, granddaughter Christine Kunch, brothers Joseph Chaildin (Betty) of Titusville, Florida and Anthony Chaildin in Marianna, Pennsylvania and sisters Stella Vasu of Amherst and Margaret Griffith of Parma.

She was preceded in death by her former husband Dimitri Kunch on September 3, 2011, twin brother George Chaildin, brother John Chaildin and sister Ann Chaildin.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. The Rev. Chris Robinson, chaplain of New Life Hospice, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
