Eleanor M. Hodkey (nee Jones), 86, Member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church

She was born August 25, 1925 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Sheffield Township/Lorain area resident.

Eleanor graduated from Clearview High School in 1943. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township where she volunteered in the kitchen for funerals and other events.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.

She is survived by her children Kenneth P. Hodkey (Carole A. nee Hausrod) of Rocky River, Gary L. Hodkey (Kathy A) of Elyria and Kathy L. McCartney (Freeman) of Lorain, granddaughters Emily Onderko (James), Jennifer Taylor (Brian) and Morgan McCartney, step granddaughter Tammy Vincent (Mike) and great granddaughter Sophia Onderko. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond B. Hodkey on July 19, 2007, parents Robley & Helen Jones (nee Schmidt), great granddaughter Lily Onderko, brothers Robert, Franklin, Virgil and Robley Jones and sister Dorothy Moriarty.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd, Elyria Township. (Please meet at the church). The Rev. Michael Denk, parochial vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
