Margaret Zemantauski (nee Stankura), 84, Avid Crafter
Margaret Zemantauski, (nee Stankura), age 84, of Lorain, passed away peacefully Saturday January 7th at the Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake.She was born in Lorain on October 1, 1927 and had remained a life-long resident of the city.
Marge was graduate of Lorain High School; she was also a long-time parishioner of the former St. John Roman Catholic Church as well as its successor St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish. She was an avid crafter who also enjoyed solving both word and jigsaw puzzles. Additional interests included following the Cleveland Indians and watching televised golf events.
She is survived by her son Joseph W. Zemantauski, Jr. (Kathleen) of Independence, by her daughter Nancy Jackson (Richard) of Carlisle Township, by grandsons Jared Zemantauski of Miami, Florida, Matthew Zemantauski of North Ridgeville, and Richard Jackson, Jr. of Canton, by her granddaughter Allyson Jackson of Carlisle Township, and by five great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Irene Bodzash and Betty Stawicki both residing in Amherst. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Zemantauski, Sr. in 2006, by her son Kevin Zemantauski in 2011, by her parents George and Helen (nee Pravada) Stankura, and by her brother George Stankura.
Friends may call Wednesday January 11th from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend John C. Retar, Pastor of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
