Ann Schnur (nee Barto), 64, Avid Gardener
Ann Schnur, (nee Barto), passed away from natural causes on January 11th, 2012. Mrs. Schnur was born in Lorain and had been a resident of Elyria since 1947.Ann was a graduate of Lorain High School and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria. In her free time she enjoyed, gardening, walking, and reading.
She is survived by her daughters Carol (Tom) Cocco of Amherst Township and Janet (Gene) LoPresti of Avon, by her son Brian (Connie) Schnur of Elyria, along with five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Skarupa of Lorain and by her brother Robert (Peggy) Barto also of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 1999, by her son Gerald, by her parents George and Anna (nee Zatroch) Barto, by brothers Andrew, George, John, and Joseph, and by sisters Mildred and Eleanor.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday January 16th at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church – 1140 West River Road in Elyria. Reverend James Herbolsheimer, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
