David J. Sherry, 57, Southview High School "Saint" Alumni

Mr. Sherry was a 1972 graduate of Southview High School. He formerly played both slow and fast pitch softball while residing in Lorain and was an ardent fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
At the time of his passing, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company as an assembler in the auto manufacturer’s Kentucky Truck Plant.
He was currently a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Taylorsville and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Donna (nee Markley), his daughter Erika (Clarence) Cantu of Norwalk, his son Donald Jeffrey Sherry of Lorain, granddaughters Gabrielle and Samantha Cantu, his parents Gervase and Larue Sherry of Lorain, sisters Christine Sherry of Sheffield Village, Denise Sherry of Telford, Tennessee, and Jeanne Norton of Lorain, his brother Charles J. (Pauline) Sherry of Amherst, his mother-in-law Betty Markley of Lorain, and his sister-in-law Vickie (George) Cuevas of Lorain.
David was preceded in death by his father-in-law Donald J. Markley in 2009.
Visitation will be Thursday and Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.
Funeral services will be Saturday January 21st beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive. The Reverend Fr. John C. Retar, Pastor of the parish will officiate.
Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
