Dolly M. Marcum, 86, Accomplished Gardener

She was born in Harts, West Virginia (Logan County) on August 15, 1925 and had been a resident of Ohio since 1953.
Dolly was formerly employed as the Housekeeping Supervisor at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain; she retired following a career that spanned ten years of service with the health care provider.
Known for her unending kindness, Dolly was an accomplished gardener who also possessed a love of the outdoors. She enjoyed canning and was well known for the green beans that she preserved. Additional interests included being with her family and listening to gospel music.
She is survived by her sons Bill (Roxanne) Marcum of Orville, Ohio and Terry (Lana) Marcum of Amherst, by daughters Judy (Thomas) Adcock of Elyria Township, Linda (Jim) Dillon of Sheffield Township, Mary Benson (Tom Schoebel) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Pat (Rickie) Riggs residing in Vermilion. She also leaves 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, along with her brother Gilbert (Carol) Hensley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and her sister Mae McNeil also of Myrtle Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Leona (nee Stevenson) Hensley, by brothers John Hensley, Emmett Hensley, Lawson Hensley, Don Hensley, Alvin Payne, and Leonard, Payne, by sisters Betty Jewel Hensley in infancy, Melinda Hensley, Martha Brayshaw, Nelda Curry, and Mary Ann Bryant.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Friends may also call Monday in the Midway Baptist Church, 41812 Griswold Road from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Charles Keesee, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
