Iwan Kinakowsky , 84, Electrician

Photo of Iwan Kinakowsky Iwan Kunakowsky 84 of Grafton, passed away Wednesday February 15, 2012 at University Hospital Cleveland of a brief illness.

Mr. Kunakowsky was born January 8, 1928 in the Kuban region of Russia.

He immigrated to Lorain from Brazil in 1958. Iwan was employed at USS Kobe as a electrician, retiring in 1993 after 30 years of service. He was a member Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Lorain. He was also the United Steel Workers Local 1104, Lorain. After retiring he worked as an electrical contractor for Franklin Homes. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Tamara (née Golowatsch), sons, John (Rita) of Broadview Hts., Victor (Annette) of Amherst, Aleksander (Lorraine) of Glendale, AZ, daughters Nina (Bruce) Baumann of North Port, New York, Irina Pacillio of Austin, Texas 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, sister Taisa Anochin of Seven Hills.

He was preceded in death by his son Valentin in 1997 and his parents Paul and Maria (née Potopova) Kunakowsky.

His family will receive friends Saturday from 12 Noon until the time of his funeral service at 1 PM in Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 East 32nd Street, Lorain, Ohio 44055-2018. Very Reverend Father Basil Stoyka, Pastor will officiate Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests memorial contributions to his church.
