Roy J. Dickason, 59, Talented & Creative Carpenter

Photo of Roy J.  Dickason Roy J. Dickason, 59, of Lorain passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

Mr. Dickason was born in Lexington, KY on May 22, 1952, the son of the late Dr. Jack H. Carol M. (nee Drake) Dickason.

He was a 1970 graduate of Admiral King High School and attended Zion Lutheran Church.

He was general utility/inspector at Ford Motor Co. in Avon. He retired in 2008 following a total of 30 years service. He held several HVAC certifications. He had also worked for Murphy Brothers Body Shop in Elyria, the former Kyle Motors in Vermilion, the Lorain Creamery and Dickason Marina.
Mr. Dickason was a member of UAW Local 425 & 1100.

A talented and creative carpenter, he loved to build, fix and repair things. He at one time owned and operated his own drag racing car. He enjoyed working on cars and he and his son restored a corvette. He also enjoyed boating.

Mr. Dickason is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 36 years, Paula J. (nee McKitrick) Dickason, sons Ryan P. Dickason, James R Dickason, Britt O Dickason, Mackenzie S (Marcy Lukesic) Dickason, Brady S (Krystle Sparino) Dickason, Murphy P. Dickason all of Lorain, sisters Jacqueline (Edward) Graff of Lorain; Mary Jean (Greg) Owen, of Katy, TX, brother, Dr. Robert (Frieda) Dickason of Grosse Isle, MI, several nieces and nephews, his mother in law Jean McKitrick of Lorain, sister in law Molly (Jack) Kirchner of Lorain, other family members Jayne Gleisner of Willard, Cindy Rader of Willard, Lisa Gleisner of Willard.

Friends may call on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until a Celebration of His Life at 7:00 p.m.. in the Zion Lutheran Church, 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain, with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating.
