Jane Wasco (nee Kuhn), 90, Choir Singer at Christ United Methodist Church
Jane Wasco (nee Kuhn), age 90, of Lorain, passed away on the evening on March 5th, 2012 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
Jane was born in Lorain on September 20, 1921 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Mrs. Wasco was a 1939 graduate of Lorain High School; she was employed by the Ford Motor Company where she served secretary to the plant manager of the Lorain Assembly Plant; she retired in 1984 following a career that spanned 25 years with the automaker.
Jane was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, as well as its predecessor, Christ United Methodist Church where she had been a long-time member of the church choir.
In her free time she enjoyed needlecraft, playing cards, and word scrabble.
Jane is survived by her sons Calvin (Susan) of Rochester, New York and Thomas S. (Barbara) of Beaumont, California, by her daughter Carole Houk, along with seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. Wasco in 1999, by her grandson Daniel Wasco, by her granddaughter Lynne Marie Wasco, by her parents Calvin and Mae (nee Kuenzli) Kuhn, and by brothers Nat, Frederick, and Ray.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. Lorain. Friends may also call Saturday in the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, from Noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Gregory Sellers, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
