Rita M. Chedester (nee Boggs), 63, Enjoyed Being with Family

She was born in Lorain on January 25, 1949 and remained a life-long resident of the city. She was a graduate of Lorain High School.

Rita recently retired from the Lorain Public School System where she served as a cleaner for the past 28 years; her primary assignments were at Charleston Elementary and Lorain High School.

Regarded as the backbone of her family, she received the most enjoyment in life from spending time with her immediate and extended family. She also enjoyed flower gardening with a special focus on growing roses.

She is survived by her sons John Chedester, Jr. and Jason Chedester both residing in Lorain, by her daughter Tina Chedester of Lorain, step-daughter Debbie Murphy of Lorain, and by eight grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Billy Boggs of Bellevue, Ohio, and sisters Judy Roark, Linda Schuster, and Terrie White all of Lorain.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mattie (nee Medley) Boggs, as well as one sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be Wednesday May 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Private family burial services will take place in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to Rita’s family to assist them in defraying funeral and burial expenses.
