Anita L. Deering (nee Broglio), 71, Caregiver & Avid Volunteerer

She was born in Lorain on July 20, 1940 and remained a life-long resident of the city. Anita was a 1958 graduate of Lorain High School; while enrolled there she was a member of the Junior Dots Social Club.
A parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain, Anita was formerly employed as a title clerk at Bob Beck Chevrolet. Most recently she had been serving as the caregiver to her daughter, Erin C. Deering.
In her free time Anita enjoyed reading and was always available to volunteer her time and talent to help others; she also enjoyed spending time with her immediate and extended family.
In addition to her daughter she is survived by her sisters Paulette (Joe) Kollar of Huntington Township, and Jean (Geoff) Gardner of Newtown, Pennsylvania, by her niece Nicole (Bryan) Brown of Holland, Pennsylvania, by her nephew David (Stefanie) Gardner of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and by her former husband Roger Deering of Bremen, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nick J. and Anne (nee DiLuciano) Broglio.
Please join the family for the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday May 5, 2012 in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Anita’s name to either the University Hospitals of Cleveland Dialysis Unit, 11100 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106 or to the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain.
