Helen Murray (nee Kalo), 91, Enjoyed Reading & Watching Soap Operas

Helen Murray, (nee Kalo), age 91, of Lorain, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 27th, 2012 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Murray was born in Lorain on September 25, 1920 and remained a life-long resident of the city; she attended Clearview High School.

Helen was formerly employed as a sales associate at the Lovie’s Dry Goods Store and had also assisted her brother, Frank Kalo, in the operation of his North Ridge Road floral shop.

She was a parishioner of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish who enjoyed reading and watching soap operas in her free time.

Mrs. Murray is survived by her son Ernie (Patti) Murray of Lorain, by her granddaughter Wendy Murray, also of Lorain , and by sisters Irene Retay of Amherst and Theresa (Lewis) Makay of Vermilion. She also leaves her sisters-in-law Ruth Kalo, Mary Gallis, and Vivian Kalo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cornelius “C.J.” Murray in 2004, by her parents Charles and Theresa Kalo-Vass (nee Szerecsen) by her step-father Frank Vass, by brothers Charles, Joseph, Ernest, and Frank, as well her brother-in-law Tony Retay.

Please join her family for a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday May 1st at 10:30 a.m. in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive , in Lorain . The Reverend John C. Retar, Pastor of the parish, and the Reverend Cornelius J. Murray, Pastor Emeritus of St. Brendan Catholic Church in North Olmsted will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
