Esther B. Johnson (nee Bement), 92, Enjoyed Flower Gardening & Playing Cards

She was born in North Ridgeville, Ohio on June 7, 1919 and was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School where she was named Valedictorian of her graduating class. Following commencement, she attended business school.
Mrs. Johnson was formerly employed by the Thew Shovel Company in Lorain, and most recently worked as a sales associate at the J.C. Penney Catalog Center in the Meister Road Shopping Plaza.
Esther attended Broadway Assembly Church. In her free time she enjoyed flower gardening and playing cards, especially with her son and grandson.
She is survived by her daughters Judy Black of Elyria, Roberta (David) Treadway of Brownhelm Twp., and Patricia D’Ettorre of Parma, and by her sons Arthur C. (Beverly) Johnson of Lorain, and Franklin (Debra) Johnson of Brownhelm Twp. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law Arlene Johnson residing in Brownhelm Twp.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Johnson, Sr., by her son Robert A. Johnson, Jr., by her son-in-law Miland Black, by her parents Clifford H. and Mary (nee Hazencamp) Bement, by brothers Earl in infancy, and Glen and Lloyd Bement, along with sisters Elsie Bohland and Lucy Bement.
Visitation will be Thursday May 3rd from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Matt Jones, Pastor of the Broadway Assembly Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
