Photo of Michael Paul Salvatore Dore Michael Paul Salvatore Dore, 54, of Lorain passed away peacefully with courage at his home on May 22, 2012.

Mr. Dore was born in Lorain, Ohio on February 19, 1958. He was the son of the late Philip and Katherine (Black) Dore. He spent his life in Lorain and attended Lorain High School class of 1976.

Mike was a dedicated employee to the city of Lorain as a mechanic. He spent many extra hours ensuring the streets were safe in inclement weather. He also enjoyed the opportunity to maintain the cemetery grounds.

Mike had a passion for music that began early in his teens when he started a lifelong admiration of the talented guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Mike was most at peace with his fingers "bleeding" on the strings. He played guitar in local bands and for family and friends; he proved himself to be a gifted musician. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns play a winning game of football from his stadium seat.

Mike leaves behind a loving family including his three daughters Misty (Mike) Welch, Michele (Josh) Cannon, and Kelly (Adam) Sandoval, 5 adoring Granddaughters Morgan, Maria, and Mirabel Welch, Elizabeth Mixon, and Gabriela Sandoval, 2 brothers Philip (Renee) Dore, Tim (Rosemary) Dore, and a special companion Jane Smith.

Mike is reunited in heaven now and rejoicing in a perfect body with his parents that preceded him in death, Philip A. and Katherine Dore.

Mike was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed spending time with his family around the dining table. Oh, the stories he could tell. Many of those stories will be shared on the following days.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 4-8 in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
