M. Rita Irwin, 87, Will Be Missed Deeply

She was born in Rosebud, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1924 and was a 1942 graduate of Beccaria Township High School. Rita had been a resident of Lorain since 1945.
A parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, she served the Lorain County Board of Elections for forty years.
In her free time she enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a variety of card clubs in the area. Additional interest included flower gardening, league bowling, and water aerobics.
Survivors include her daughter Norma Jean Davis residing in Berea , her sons Kenny (Yolie) Irwin of Millbury, Ohio , and Alan (Linda) Irwin of North Ridgeville, by grandsons Brian, Todd, Kevin, Ryan, Troy , Mark, and Jeff, along with granddaughters Jennifer, and Heather. In additiona she leaves 16 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother Leo (Marge) Kruise of Youngstown, sister-in-law Elsie (Bob) Bonin of Lorain and by brother-in-law Chuck (Wynonia) Miles also of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by he husband Norman A. Miles in 1992, by her parents Leo and Mary (nee Rafferty) Kruise, by her sister Lucille Maloney, and by her brother Norbert Kruise.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue , Lorain . Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St, Mary Catholic Church (corner of Eighth Street and Reid Avenue ). The Reverend Daniel O. Divis will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery .
In lieu of flowers the family encourages your memorial contribution to either the Alzheimer’s Foundation, the Multiple Myeloma Organization, the American Heart Association, or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve .
