Dr. Steven E. Toth III, 68, Will Be Deeply Missed

Photo of Dr. Steven E.  Toth III Dr. Steven E. Toth, III, 68, of Portland, Oregon passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in his home.

He was born November 4, 1943 in Lorain and was raised in Sheffield Village. He graduated from Brookside High School, Sheffield in 1961. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University and his Doctorate in Public Health from the University of California, Berkley.

Steve helped start the BGSU Aquatic and Marine Biology Lab and studied at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, Massachusetts. He owned and operated a long term care facility in Long Beach, CA. He worked for the government in Mexico City, Mexico. He was an art collector.

Survivors include his sisters Joan M. (Albert) Dargo of Avon and Mary Ann (Andrew) Nemeth of Ashland; brothers John S. (Barbara) Toth of Middleburg Heights and Richard P. Toth of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces, nephews; “sons” Lester Barrios of Portland and Jobani Complconos of Tijuana, Mexico and “grandchildren” Steven and Stephanie Complconos.

He was preceded in death by his parents Steve J. and Mary J. (née Frankovich) Toth.

Private interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
