Gordon W. Hagerman, 77, PFC in U.S. Army
Gordon W. Hagerman, 77, of Lorain passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Specialty Hospital in Amherst following a brief illness.Mr. Hagerman was born in Portsmouth on August 12, 1934, a son of the late Gordon N. and Helen M. (nee Hafner) Hagerman. He was a member of the Toledo Road Church of Christ.
He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC earning the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Hagerman retired in 1989 from the Consumer Concrete Company in Elyria, formerly known as Concrete Masonry Corporation after 32 years service.
He was a member of the Teamsters.
Mr. Hagerman is survived by sons James W. Hagerman, Gordon D. Hagerman both of Lorain, George S. (Amanda) Hagerman of Loveland, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sisters, Helen Adams of Wheelersburg, Martha (Roger) Tackett of Springfield, Bonnie, (Glen) Hollis of Sciotoville, brothers David (Patricia) Hagerman of South Carolina and Robert (Alice) Hagerman of Portsmouth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Ruth Stoneking, Alma Pearson and Nicholas Hagerman.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Toledo Road Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Ave., Sheffield Township with his son George Hagerman, officiating.
Graveside Services, with full military honors, will be held at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, Ohio 44270.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Road Church of Christ, 5075 Toledo Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44055.
