Emil M. Thomas , 80, Painter & U.S. Veteran

Photo of Emil M.  Thomas Emil M. Thomas, 80, of Lorain, died Sunday June 24, 2012 in the emergency room at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was born October 27, 1931 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Emil graduated from Lorain High School in 1949 and then served with the US Army in Germany during the Korean War.

Emil worked as a painter painting homes in the area. He was a dedicated caregiver to his brother Stanley and sister Zora. He and Stanley were avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Cavaliers fans.

He is survived by his sister Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents Eli and Anna Thomas (nee Belancic) and 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

The family will receive friends Thursday 12:00 pm until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Aleksa Pavichevich, pastor of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
