Mario Mannarelli, 76, Loyal Friend

Photo of Mario  Mannarelli Mario Mannarelli, 76, of Lorain, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at his home after a 10-month illness.

He was born October 19, 1935 in Montenero, Italy and had resided in Lorain for over 40 years. While living in Italy, he served with the Italian military.

Mario worked as a coil winder at Lorain Products for 30 years retiring in 2000.

He was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain and the Montenero Society. He enjoyed league bowling, gardening, watching soccer and talking politics. He was a loyal friend to all of his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years Julie Mannarelli (nee DiFilippo), sisters Cristina Scalzitti and Margaret Miraldi and brothers Enio Mannarelli (Nicolette) and Rino Mannarelli (Paola), all of Italy and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Giosaffatto and Ida Mannarelli (nee Fabrizio) and brother Remigio Mannarelli.

The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:00 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Gerald Keller will officiate. Committal services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
