Joseph J. Mramor, 74, Avid Jokester & Story Teller
Joseph J. Mramor, 74, of Amherst Township, died Thursday July 5, 2012 at his home of natural causes.He was born April 21, 1938 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst Township for the last 7 years moving from Avon.
Joseph graduated from Lorain High School and then served with the US Marine Corps with the rank of Corporal. He attended The Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor Degree in Education and Masters Degree in Biology.
Joseph taught high school biology in Detroit for 1 year and then worked for the Food and Drug Administration Cleveland Regional Office as an Inspector for 30 years retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, attending auctions and cooking. Joseph loved to tell stories and was a jokester. He enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren and was a faithful patron of Mangine’s Café in Lorain.
He is survived by his children Michele DeMayo of Angola, Indiana, Georgia Lang (Chris) of Marietta, Ohio, Andrew Mramor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Stacy Wilson (David) of Mineral Wells, West Virginia, 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, sisters Virginia Erdy of Oberlin and Mary Ellen Eaton of Powell, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Sue Bruce in 2010, parents Joseph P. and Amelia Mramor (nee Tomazic) and sister Arlene Grubic.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
