Ted Kish, 69, Proud US Navy Veteran

He was born in Lorain on December 5, 1942 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Ted was a graduate of Clearview High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy where he fulfilled duty assignments as a Fireman and Boiler Technician in San Diego, Alaska, and Hawaii during the Vietnam War.
A parishioner of the former St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, he was employed for nearly three decades as a tool and die maker for the Moen Corporation.
Ted possessed a love for automobiles and especially his 1957 Ford Fairlane known throughout the area as The Robe which he restored and customized. He was an active member of the Stylers Custom Car Club who also possessed a passion for fireworks and his grandchildren.
Mr. Kish was a member of VFW Post # 451 in Lorain as well as the Lorain Knights of Columbus; in addition to automobiles, he also enjoyed the game of golf.
He is survived by his son Troy T. Kish of Lorain, his daughter Danielle Elliott (Ison) residing in Louisville, Kentucky, by grandchildren Demetrice, Tiara, Gia, and Laszlo, and by his great grandson Kaiden. He also leaves his twin sister Theodora Terry Douglass of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his father Theodore D. Kish, Sr. and by his mother Irene (nee Kascandi) Kish.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Parastas services will be Monday August 20th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel conducted by Very Reverend Nicholas Rachford. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park where joint military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 30 and VFW Post # 451 both of Lorain.
