Pauline Matchison, 88, Enjoyed Traveling and Spending Time with Family

Pauline was born on May 11, 1924 in Coy, Pennsylvania.
In 1945 she moved with her new husband, John R., to Lorain, Ohio. Her husband, a Plant Control Room Operator with CEI, passed away in 1981. They were married for 35 years. During that time, Pauline became a cosmetologist and ran her own beauty shop, first in downtown Lorain, and later at her home. In Lorain, she took classes and finished the requirements for her High School diploma.
She is survived by her children John G. Matchison and wife Patricia of Edgewood, New Mexico and Eric D. Matchison of Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She was also the grandmother to eight grandchildren: John D., Christopher, Ryan (deceased), Darren, Lesley, Leigh, Brent and Jeffrey. She also enjoyed two great-grandchildren Jayden and Ethan.
She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Ann, Mary, Julia, Margaret and Helen and 4 brothers: Charles, George, Pete and Paul. Her faith in Jesus never failed as she endured the loss of her husband John, the premature death of her grandson Ryan and the passing of her siblings.
During her marriage Pauline enjoyed summer vacations with her family and traveling across America. She also took pride in gardening and raising flowers in her yard.
She was an active volunteer with a variety of organizations. Pauline was a member of the KC (Knights of Columbus) Guild. She also worked the Friday fish fries at the American Slovak Club and did holiday baking for St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church of which she was a life-long member.
