Michael Kotradi, 96, Enjoyed Fishing & Gardening
Michael Red Kotradi, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky and formerly of Lorain and Elyria, died Monday September 10, 2012 at the Glen Ridge Health Campus in Louisville.He was born December 6, 1915 in Rosco, Pennsylvania and had resided in the Lorain/Elyria area most of his life before moving to Louisville a few years ago.
Mike worked at US Steel in Lorain as a crane operator for 36 years retiring in 1974.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his children Michalene Mikki Grasso of Lorain, Richard Kotradi of Laughlin, Nevada and Victoria (Arthur) Urbanic of Louisville, KY, grandchildren Lisa Grasso of Westerville, Heather Contreras of Lorain and Daniel and Michael Urbanic, both of Louisville, KY and great grandchildren Justin Vernon Stone, Taylor Michael Stone and Maxwell Allen Contreras. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Estelle Kotradi (nee Abrahamowicz), parents John and Mary Kotradi, brothers John Kotradi, George Devinitz and Albert Wayda and sisters Marie Heredos and Marge Berens.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A Parastas Service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
