Lorraine E. Eyman, 93, Best Known for her Generous Spirit and Love for Others

Lorraine E. Eyman (nee Tressel), age 93, of Lorain passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.

Mrs. Eyman was born in East Saint Louis, IL on August 21, 1917, the daughter of the late George C. and Mildred E. (nee Sokol) Tressel. She was a 1935 graduate of Lorain High School and a longtime member of the First Congregation United Church of Christ in Lorain.

Early in her adult life, Mrs. Eyman worked as a hairdresser on Brownell Avenue in Lorain and later became a homemaker. She divided her time between the Lorain-Vermilion area and Fort Myers, Florida for the past forty years. She was well known among friends and neighbors for her generous spirit and her love of family and friends.

She taught ceramics, loved arts and crafts, gardening, fishing, boating and playing bridge.

She was a charter member of Lakeland Women's Club and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen City Chapter # 66.

Survivors include her son William R. Rehman and his wife Elena Nunez-Rehman of Vermilion, two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Earl H. Rehman in 1970, her second husband Herbert J. Eyman in 1990, son Earl C. Rehman in 2003, sister Mildred Walters, brothers Vernon, Nealon and Edmond Tressel.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 West 5th St., Lorain. Queen City Chapter, OES will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Karen Farthing, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
