Judy Mezlak, 65, Will Be Deeply Missed

Judy Mezlak, 65, of Lorain, died Tuesday October 16, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a lengthy illness.

She was born October 30, 1946 in Elyria and had resided in Lorain most of her life.

Judy was a graduate of Elyria High School. She worked as a clerk at Tony’s Meats in Lorain, tended bar at the Carousel Lounge on 28th St in Lorain for about 20 years and then worked as a cashier at Dairy Mart on the corner of 28th St .and Broadway.

She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain and St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion.

She is survived by her sister Janice (Ron) McGillivray of Lorain, brothers Frank (Kim) Mezlak and Richard Mezlak, all of Lorain and sister Ruth Ann (Clif) Hyde in Painesville, sister-in-law Mary Mezlak of Lorain, 5 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 great nephew, 1 great niece and several cousins here and across the miles. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Eileen Mezlak (nee Coe) and brothers Gary and Mary Mezlak.

The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:45 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St,Vermilion. The Rev. Ron Brickner, pastor, will officiate. Cremation will follow.
