Florence M. Nolan , 88, Loving Wife & Mother

Mrs. Nolan was born in Lorain on June 5, 1924, the daughter of the late James B. and Anna Belle (nee Day) Kelley. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class 1942 B.
She and her late husband Clifford owned and operated the Genie Garage Door Sales and Service Company in Lorain until the mid 1980's. Prior to her marriage, she worked for US Steel and most recently was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nolan was a longtime member of the Delaware Avenue United Methodist Church and continued her church membership with the Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ruth Circle and the United Methodist Women.
She was an active grade school homeroom mother, a member of the Lorain Child Guidance League and the Elks Lodge # 1301. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and most importantly to her was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Nolan is survived by son James G (Kathy McArthur) Nolan of Lorain, daughters, Peggy (Jeffrey) Hamrlik, Shelley A (Alan) Szafran all of Amherst, grandchildren: Scott Hamrlik, Jason (Allison) Hamrlik, Chad Hamrlik, Trent Hamrlik, Graham Nolan, Elliot (Rachael) Nolan, Courtney (Matthew) Lazar, three great grandchildren, sisters Ann Gascoigne of Muncie, IN, Vivian (Edward) Bauman of Greensboro, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford T. Nolan in 2004.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Mr. Charles Boals, Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
