Helen O. Fabian, 95, Loving Mother & Cook

Photo of Helen O. Fabian Helen Olga Fabian (nee Urban), 95, of Drums, Pa, passed away Friday morning at the home of her daughter Andrea where she had been residing for the past six years.

She was born in Lorain, OH on December 24, 1916, the daughter of the late John and Yolanda Urban (nee Turman)and resided in the Lorain area most of her life until relocating to Drums.

She was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church and the Virgin Mary Society of the church and St. Lad’s Club.

Her favorite hobbies were cooking her favorite Hungarian recipes, search and word puzzles, embroidery and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John “Foxy” Fabian in 1951 and sisters; Yolanda “ Julia” Koller, Anna Berta, Mary Persensky, and Barbara Karney.

Surviving are her son John Urban Fabian, Lorain, daughters; Phyllis Fabian, Centerville, VA Andrea Bond and her husband Eugene, with whom she had resided. Grandchildren, John Charles Fabian and his wife Mary Beth, North Ridgeville, OH, David Fabian and his wife Lorena, Avon, OH, Dennis Fabian and his wife Heather, Lorain, OH, Christine Zahuranec, Chicago, IL, Mark Zahuranec and Matthew Zahuranec, Centerville, VA, Victoria Jackson, Chicago, IL, Jennifer Yatsko, Drums, PA, Susan Erdman and her husband Dan, Nescopeck, PA, Twila Lobitz, and her husband Ronald, Phoenix, AZ, Bobbie Jo Staudenmeier, and her husband Col, James J., Clarksville, TN, and twenty great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews along with her three favorite furry companions Braisin, Watson, and Chloe also survive.

The family will receive friends Sunday Nov 4th from 5 to 9 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday November 5th at 11 am in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. (please meet at the church) The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, and the Rev. James Schmitz, former pastor of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, will concelebrate. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
