Arlene R. Sprouse, 70, Loving Caregiver & Cook Book Collector
Arlene Rae Sprouse (nee Kalo), 70, of Lorain, died Saturday October 27, 2012 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria.She was born December 12, 1941 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Arlene graduated from Brookside High School in Sheffield Village. She worked as a school crossing guard for Elyria City Schools for many years and as a guard for Allied Security at the Avon Lake Ford Plant.
Arlene was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lorain. She enjoyed collecting cook books, baking and being a caregiver.
She is survived by her siblings Phyllis (James) Minor of Lorain, Norma (Tom) Crnko of Sheffield Lake, David (Marcia) Kalo of Diamondhead, Mississippi, Wanda (Ed) Ducsak of Las Vegas and Linda (Mike) Kotowski of Avon Lake, sister-in-law Valerie Kalo of Waterville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Lucetta Kalo (nee Trostle) and brothers Lewis T. Kalo and Daniel J. Kalo.
The family will receive friends Friday 9:30 am until the time of funeral services at 11:30 am at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel. 3224 Broadway, Lorain. The Rev. Wayne DeMarco, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
