Mellany A. Thomas, 52, STNA & Loving Mom
Mellany A. Thomas, 52, of Lorain passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Cleveland following a brief illness.
Mellany was born in Amherst on August 30, 1960, the daughter of Mary Anne (nee Huhn) Boardwine and the late Bernard L. Thomas.
She worked as a STNA at Avon Oakes Nursing Home, Avon. She enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals, talking on phone with her children and dancing.
Mellany is survived by a daughter, Kellie M. (Bryan) Taylor of Watertown, NY, sons Shaun A. Newbraugh, Eric S. Newbraugh both of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, her mother and step father James and Mary Anne Boardwine, of Lorain, fiancee' Dwayne H. Dewitt, brothers, Ronald D. (Molly) Thomas, Tim J. Boardwine both of Lorain, half brother, Bernard L. Thomas, of Lorain, two step brothers, James E. (Lisa) Boardwine of Norfolk, VA and E. Dean Boardwine of South Mills, NC.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son David W. Newbraugh on September 16, 2012.
Friends may call on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., Ohio.
