Peter T. Pulos, 103, Loved Politics, Traveling, Golfing & Animals

He was born August 26, 1909 in Akron and had resided in Lorain most of his life. Pete graduated from Buchtel High School in Akron and attended Akron University.
Pete worked as a salesperson in the furniture and carpet department at Sears & Roebuck in Lorain and Elyria for over 40 years retiring in 1974.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain where he was active in church and a member of the St. Nicholas Senior Group.
Upon his retirement, Peter volunteered with the Lorain Senior Citizens Association and Junior Achievement. He was active in local politics, loved life, enjoyed traveling, was an avid golfer and loved his cat.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra Laubenthal of St. Charles, Illinois, his grandson with whom he made his home Nicholas Halitzka of Lorain, grandchildren Gregory Pulos, Jr, Brent Pulos and Ashlyn Pulos, all of California, many great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his cat Cleo. He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Pulos (nee Elzeer) in 2000, sons Gregory Pulos, Sr in 1997, parents Thomas and Elena Pulos, brothers Nick Pulos, George Pulos and Constantine Babe Pulos and sisters Vasiliki Callas and Maria Makros.
The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where the Trisayion Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm. Additional visiting will be held on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:30 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 2000 Tower Blvd, Lorain. The Rev. Michael Gulgas, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
