Dolores Tomko, 78, Loving Wife & Former Baker

Photo of Dolores  Tomko Dolores “Jean” Tomko (nee Bodak), 78, of Lorain, was called home on Friday November 9, 2012 following a lengthy illness.

She was born September 1, 1934 in Lorain and lived in Lorain until moving to Elyria in 1993. After the death of her husband, she chose to move to Kingston of Vermilion and was a resident there for over two years. She enjoyed her time at Kingston, especially rosary, church services, crafts, trips, socializing with friends and the Kingston “Family” and bingo.

Mrs. Tomko worked for the Lorain School System for over 20 years as a baker. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved sweetheart Michael and parents Mary and William Bodak. She is survived by her children Michael J. (Barbara) Tomko of Lorain, David (Sandy) Tomko, Sr of Vermilion, Brian Tomko of Ocala, FL, Ronald Tomko, Dolores Tomko and Kenneth Tomko, all of Lorain, grandchildren Jillian Tomko-Spiegel (Jason) of North Ridgeville, David Tomko, Jr of Vermilion, Teresa Tomko-Smith (Jason), Steven Tomko and Donovan Tomko, all of Ocala, FL, great grandchildren Connor, Emily, Teri and Brooke and brothers Robert (Anita) Bodak of Lorain and Raymond (Judy) Bodak of Sunfield, MI.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor of the Church of St. Peter, will officiate. Cremation will follow and a private family burial service for her ashes will at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Kingston of Vermilion Activity Fund, 4210 Telegraph Rd, Vermilion, OH. 44089.
