Eugene J. Dargo, 92, U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran

He was born August 31, 1920 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Gene graduated from Lorain High School and served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II.

He worked as an engineer with the Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain.

Gene was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain and the former St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain. He enjoyed fishing and traveling and had visited many different countries.

He is survived by his sister Helen Bereznay of Amherst and nieces/nephews Kathleen (Frank) Jeskie of Ft. Myers, FL, Kevin (Cindy) Bereznay of North Olmsted, Pat (Tony) Sarraino of Avon, Andy (Marilyn) Bereznay of Las Vegas, Jim (Jennifer) Bereznay of Grafton, Jerry (Nancy) Bereznay of Kingwood, TX and Chris Bereznay of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine Dargo (nee Vazzano), parents John and Helen Dargo (nee Vargo), brother Edward Dargo and sister Irene Bereznay.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. (Please meet at the church) The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
