Louellen Laubenthal, 83, Enjoyed Bowling, Family, & Stamp Collecting
Louellen Laubenthal (nee Adkins), 83, died Friday November 23, 2012 in the SICU at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a 10-month illness.
She was born September 20, 1929 in East Lynn, West Virginia and had resided in Lorain for the past 63 years.
Louellen worked at Spang Bakery in Lorain, taught sewing at Singer Sewing Machine, was a cashier at WT Grant Department Store and A&P Grocery Store and demonstrated various food products with free samples at stores such as Sam’s Club.
Louellen bowled in the Friday Night Social League at Slovak Lanes in Lorain. She enjoyed collecting bells and stamps and taking casino trips.
She is survived by her children Donna Falbo of Amherst, Colleen Parker of Lorain and Jeffry M. (Teresa) Queen of Avon, grandchildren Samuel Scott (Robbie) Falbo, Jeanette C. (James) Milko, Kelly Ross, Kimberly Simpson, Michael J. Ortega, Patrick A. Ortega, Rochele V. (Nick) Tomazine and Jeffry M. Queen II, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Laubenthal in 2006, daughter Bonnie Lou Ortega in 2003 and parents Harvey Darl Adkins and Dorothy Mary Adkins (nee Crockett).
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor of Midway Baptist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
