Robert Holomuzki, 81, US Army Veteran & Loving Grandfather

He was born June 14, 1931 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Bob served with the US Army from 1948-1951. He worked as a truck driver for over 43 years and drove for Jefferson Trucking in Lorain for 22 years retiring in 1992.
Bob was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain where he served as a lector and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of VFW Post #451 in Lorain.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters and playing Sudoku. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Phyllis (nee Litkovitz), children Maryjo Holomuzki (Alan Zgonc) of Lorain, Robert J. (Margaret) Holomuzki of Reynoldsburg, Sandra (Mel) Jenkins of Lorain and John W. Holomuzki of Wooster, grandchildren Courtney, Meredith, Marlina, Alexandra and Laura, great granddaughters Cheyenne and Lydia, brother Jim (Theresa) Holomuzki of Lorain and sister Margaret Dallos of Sheffield Twp. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Matilda Holomuzki (nee Nagy) and brothers Steve and Joseph Holomuzki.
The family will receive friends Sunday 1-5 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Private family services will be held Monday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery where the VFW Post #451 and American Legion #30, both of Lorain, will conduct military honors.
The family would like to thank the staff at New Life Hospice, especially Dr. Dan Zaworski and Joe, Rey and April for the loving care they’ve shown Bob and their family during this time.
