Rose M. Gross, 81, Avid Traveler & Registered Nurse
Rose M. Gross age 81 of Vermilion died Tuesday July 17, 2012 at her home. She was born May 15, 1931 in Lorain and resided in Vermilion for the past 45 years.
Rose worked as the head registered nurse for Ford Motor Co. in both Lorain and Avon Lake for more than 30 years.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Alliance of Transylvanian Saxons Branch 11, and American Legion Post 397 in Vermilion.
Rose graduated from Lorain High School Class 1949B, and from City Hospital of Cleveland as a Registered Nurse.
She was a supporter of animal rights and animal shelters, and was an avid traveler having visited many locations around the country and world. She especially enjoyed visiting casinos, taking bus trips and the playing local sweepstakes.
Rose also enjoyed oil painting, working with porcelains and ceramics.
She is survived by sisters Dorothy Lachman, and Betty Ralph both of Lorain and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Susie (Kellner) Gross, brothers William and Alfred Gross, and a sister Helen Phillips.
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 8:00 PM at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Rev. Philip Kunz will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
