Lawrence A. Cook, 66, Dedicated Teacher & Father
Lawrence A. Cook, 66, of Lorain passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home following an unexpected illness.Mr. Cook was born in Erie, PA on June 6, 1946, the son of the late Lowell S. and Myrtle (nee Kissman) Cook.
He was a graduate of McDowell High School in Mill Creek, PA. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Wittenberg University and a Masters in Education from Cleveland State University.
He was a teacher in the North Olmsted School District. He coached hockey and high jumping.
Mr. Cook was a devoted member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain. He served on the church council and played in the Bell Choir.
He enjoyed creative writing, reading and was a loyal and enthusiastic Browns and Indians fan. He loved his church and music.
Mr. Cook is survived by son Thomas (Emily) Cook of Brecksville, a granddaughter Olivia Cook and a brother Robert (Lynn) Cook of Wexford, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cindy S. (Farmen) Cook and a son Steven Cook.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 12:45 p.m. in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Street, Lorain with Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be private.
