Maryann Mlakar, Proud & Loving Mother

Maryann (Recznik) Mlakar passed away on Jan 9, 2013.

She was a lifelong resident of Lorain, Ohio, born Feb 28, 1934.

She graduated from Lorain High School and the Lorain Business College. She worked for many years at the Lorain Telephone Company, and later as a retiree, at Willow Hardware. She was married to Joseph J. Mlakar, DDS, for 31 years, and loved him and was loved by him until her death.

She was most proud of her eight loving children and their spouses---Nancie (Richard Bechtel), Lynn (Robert Janssen), Joseph (Lori), Mike, Tom (Ginger), Jim (Julie), Rob (Heather) and Paul (Kristin). She leaves eleven very cherished grandchildren (Nick, Angela, Katie, Luke, Don, Rose, Jake, Jade, Joanna, Noah & Wyatt) and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Cindy Zahratka-Kolanda; and siblings, Rose Zahratka, Sally DeLuca and John Recznik.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Gildine) Recznik, sister Eleanor (Nandori), brother Edward, and her “second” parents, Joseph and Frances Grabenstetter.

Visitation is Jan 12th from 10 am until time of services at 11 am in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend Saturday Mass with the family at 4:30 pm at St. Mary’s Church, Corner of 8th and Reid Ave., Lorain.
