Esther A. Kirk, 58, Loving Homemaker
Esther A. Kirk, 58, (nee Leach) of Lorain passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013 at her home, unexpectedly.
Mrs. Kirk was born in Lorain on April 3, 1954, the daughter of the late Donald and Ruth (nee Woods) Leach. She was a graduate of Lorain High School. She graduated from the Northern Institute of Cosmetology and was a licensed real estate agent for several years with Rieth Realty.
She was currently a home maker. She had been the owner/operator of the GPU (Gold Plated Unlimited) in Lorain and prior to that owned and operated the Esther Smith Beauty Salon also in Lorain. She and her husband lived a short time in Texas and she owned and operated the Hilltop Saloon while living there.
Mrs. Kirk enjoyed painting ceramics, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived her husband of 23 years, James S. Kirk, a son Ronald A. "JR" (Erika) Smith, Jr., of Lorain; grandchildren Dylan Smith, Carter Smith, Cali Smith, a step daughter Kelli Ann Kirk Hayes of Tyler, Texas, step grandchildren Ryan Kirk , Ayla Kirk, Jarett Hayes, a sister Janet (Thomas) Bergette of Lorain, Donald (Cynthia) Leach of Amherst, James (Lana) Leach of Vermilion and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson James Christopher Kirk.
Graveside Services are private.
