Therese J. Dlugosz-Francis, 86, Beloved Mother & Avid Crafter

Photo of Therese J.  Dlugosz-Francis Therese J. “Tess” Dlugosz-Francis (nee Brezinski), 86, of Lorain, died Tuesday February 12, 2013 in the MICU at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.

She was born July 25, 1926 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Tess graduated from Lorain High School in 1944. She worked at Spang Bakery Company and Tri County Gas Company retiring in 1989 after 12 years.

Tess was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Lorain where she was active with the St. Peter Senior Club. She was also a member of the former Keenagers and the Lorain Community Seniors. Tess enjoyed crafts, reading, sewing and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

She is survived by her children Robert (Robette) Dlugosz of Lorain, Thomas (Tracy) Douglas of Aurora, Donald (Karen) Dlugosz of Highland Heights and Barbara (Roger) Mastroianni of Lyndhurst, stepson Ralph Francis of the Philippines, grandchildren Ryan (Heather) Dlugosz of Cincinnati, Christopher Dlugosz of Lorain, Lauren Dlugosz of Brooklyn, NY, Cara Dlugosz of Raleigh, NC, Eric and Tyler Douglas, both of Aurora, Max, Sam and Mia Mastroianni, all of Lyndhurst and Jeff and Audrey Dlugosz, both of Highland Heights, great granddaughter Liliana Dlugosz and sisters: Sister Harriet Brezinski of Holyoke, MA, Lillian Grimes of Elyria and Florence (Robert) Jaworski and Joan (Michael) Jurbala, all of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her first husband Walter Dlugosz on Oct 31, 1977, second husband Dwight Francis on Dec 11, 2011, parents Stanley and Lottie Brezinski (nee Bialorucki) and brothers John and Anthony Brezinski.

The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. (Please meet at church) The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
