Irma Quiles Torres, 69, Loving Mother

Photo of Irma Quiles Torres Irma Quiles Torres, 69, of Lorain passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 in New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.

She was born July 9, 1943 in Corozal, Puerto Rico. She lived in New York for 8 Years before moving to Lorain in 1979.

Irma was a strong, kindhearted, loving mother. She was an active member of Sacred heart Chapel, Lorain. Irma volunteered to help at church activities. In spite of her recent illness and debilitation she remained free spirited.

She will be dearly missed by her sons José A. (Kimberly) Ortiz, Jr. of Sheffield Lake and Victor (Cynthia), David and Daniel (Neimaliz) Ortiz both of Lorain; her daughter Julie Ortiz of Lorain; her former husband and friend José Ortiz of Lorain; brothers Ramon Quiles of Reading, Pennsylvania and Anibal Quiles of Morovis, Puerto Rico and a sister Maria Motieran of Queens, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Gurmercinda (née Torres) and 13 brothers and sisters.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, from 4 to 8 pm at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call on Wednesday, at Sacred Heart Chapel 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, from 8:30 am until the Mass of the Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Rev. Fr. William Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
