Catherine L. Ramey, 66, Avid Reader

Catherine L. Ramey (nee James), 66, of Sheffield Township, died Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.

She was born October 1, 1946 in San Diego, California and had resided in the Lorain area most of her life.

Catherine worked at in the stock department at Western Enterprises in Westlake for 10 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Otis L. Ramey, sons David Ramey (Rhonda) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Michael Ramey of Lorain and Steven Ramey of Elyria, grandchildren Kayla Monocchi (Joe) of Brunswick, Shawn Ramey of Mt. Sterling, KY, Rebecca Ramey of Vermilion, Taylor Ramey of Lorain, Devin Ramey of Mt. Sterling, KY, and McKenna Ramey and Brandon Ramey, both of Vermilion, great grandchildren Bella and Liam Monocchi, brother Terry James (Katherine) of Lorain and sister Patricia Wright (David) of New York. She was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Mary James (nee Bennett.

The family will receive friends Sunday 2-6 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Matt Jones, pastor of Broadway Assembly Church in Sheffield Township, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
