Jeannette A. Skarupa, 54, Loved Game Shows
Jeannette A. Skarupa, 54, of Lorain, died Saturday March 30, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born on Palm Sunday March 22, 1959 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Jeannette worked at Murray Ridge Workshop in Elyria for many years and was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. She played the violin and enjoyed music and dancing. She loved watching game shows on the Game Show Network, watching parades and spending time with her best friend Jeannie who will really miss her.
She is survived by her sister Jeanne Vrbancic (Barry) of Amherst, brothers Ken Skarupa (Eleanor) of Allentown, PA and Ron Skarupa (Susan) of Norwalk, aunt Helen Virant of Lorain who had been a second mother and caregiver to her, many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families and Scott and Shelly Riley and their niece Jenny who she made her home with for the past 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Florence Skarupa (nee Brosky).
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
