Iris L. Farkas, 89, Will be Deeply Missed

She was born February 25, 1924 in Lorain, OH. She was a former member of Hungarian Reformed Church in Lorain. Iris had moved to Westerville, OH to be near her daughter, and was residing at Sterling House Assisted Living for the past five years.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents Selma and Anthony Zimmerman, her sister Betty Ann Rehoreg, and her beloved husband Alex Farkas. Her sister, Jane Indre resides in Madison, OH. She is also survived by her daughter Linda Polny (Benjamin), her two grown grandchildren Megan Ley (Bryon) of Lewis Center, OH, and Nathan Polny of Atlanta, GA. She also has three great grandchildren Victoria, Gabriella, and Camille.

The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Edgar Anthony, pastor of Ss Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Twp, officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sterling House of Westerville, 6377 Cooper Road, Columbus, OH 43231.
