William J. Lee, 86, Enjoyed Gardening & Camping
William J. Lee, 86, of Lorain passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Lee was born in Haymakertown, Virginia on December 19, 1926, the son of the late Herman O. and Lora H (nee Mayberry) Lee.
He worked as a bricklayer at T J Hume Construction Co. in Lorain for more than 40 years retiring in the mid 1980's. He enjoyed being out-of-doors, attending steak fries, gardening, camping, and was known as a local caregiver for the elderly.
Mr. Lee is survived by daughters, Brenda G. Lee, Betty J. Lee both of Lorain, Judy Nichols of Roanoke, VA, sons Michael E. Lee, William J Lee, Jr., both of Lorain, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister, Annabelle Staples of Roanoke, VA, and brothers, Fred Lee, of Salem, VA and Eugene Lee of Haymakertown, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lucy A. (nee Duncan) Lee in 1984, daughters Diane M Betchey, Jeannie Hall, son David W Lee and several brothers.
Friends may call on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor D.J. Murray, of the Haven Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township, OH.
