Shirley Jacovetti, 75, Loving Mother & Grandmother

Shirley Jacovetti (nee Rutkowski), 75, of Lorain, died peacefully on Friday April 19, 2013 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain surrounded by her family.

She was born October 5, 1937 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Shirley graduated from Lorain High School class of 1954. She worked at Ridge Tool in Elyria and was a loving mother and grandmother after marrying her husband James in 1959.

She was a lifelong member of Nativity of the Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed taking car rides on Sunday, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Janet Bodde (Doug) of Vermilion, sons: Joseph Jacovetti, James Jacovetti (Ellen), John Jacovetti (Jennifer) all of Lorain, Joel Jacovetti (Stephanie) of North Ridgeville , 12 grandchildren, sisters Alice Kromroy, Teresa Jachym (John) and Frances Callahan, all of Lorain, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James Jacovetti on July 13, 2003, parents Jakob and Mary Rutkowski (nee Kobylarczyk) and sisters Agnes Draves and Dolores Feldkamp.

The family will receive friends Sunday 3-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
