Andrew J. Fisher, 73, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Andrew J. Fisher Andrew J. " Jack" Fisher, 73 of Elyria passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Fisher was born in Rosedale, WV on May 26, 1939, the son of the late John T. and Virginia (nee Moore) Fisher. He had been a resident of Lorain County for most of his life.

He served two tours in the U.S. Army as a PFC, earning the Good Conduct Medal.

In 1980, he retired from LTV Steel in Elyria as a crane operator. He had more than 20 years service.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to country music.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife of 14 years Jody (nee Lundy) Bellamy Fisher, step daughters, Deanna Lynn (Chuck) Prunty Haney of Wakeman, Doris Walker of North Olmsted, step son Ernie Prunty Jr. of Elyria, step grandson Kaiden Filipika, step granddaughter Kristen Filipika, son-in-law Steven Filipika, sisters Elizabeth "Bun" (Mark) Melbaum of Parkersburg, WV and Linda Sumpter of Weston, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Adaline M. Prunty Fisher, step daughters Jeanette Parrighi, Tammy Filipak, Joani Smith, step son Bill Prunty, sisters Carolyn "Sis" Cottrell, Patty Fisher and a brother, Mike Fisher.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10:30 am in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Chaplian Roger Loomis, Crossroads Hospice will officiate Burial with full military honors, will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
