Concetta Magura, 94, Will be Deeply Missed

She was born in Lorain on August 17, 1918 and remained a life-long resident of the city. Connie was a 1936 graduate of Lorain High School .

Mrs. Magura began her working life as a sales associate for Klein’s Department Store and, later, for the J.C. Penney Company. She had also been employed as an assistant and secretary in the office of Dr. J.A. Minnich, D.D.S. During the war effort she worked in the Personnel Office of Western Automatic in Elyria . In 1967 she began working as a secretary in the office at St. Peter Parish School in Lorain; she retired from that position in 1977 following nine years of service.

A parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Connie is survived by her daughter Linda Simoni Soeder, by her granddaughter Gena Soeder, and by nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Peter in 1994, by her parents Carl and Christina (nee DeLuca) Petro, and by her brother Sal Petro.

Friends may call on Friday June 7th from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Avenue , Lorain . Reverend Craig Hovanec, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery , Lorain .

In lieu of flowers, Connie’s family strongly encourages memorial contributions to either the St. Peter Capital Campaign Fund – 3655 Oberlin Avenue , Lorain , OH 44053 or to the New Life Hospice, 3700 Kolbe Road , Lorain , Ohio 44053 .

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, Lorain .
