Carl A. Stutt, 84, U.S. Army Veteran
Carl A. Manny Stutt, Jr., age 84, of Lorain , passed away on the morning of Friday June 7th 2013 following an extended illness. He was born in Lorain on April 1, 1929 and remained a life-long resident of the city.Manny attended Clearview High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post # 30 in Lorain .
He had been employed in the Edgewater Power Plant of Ohio Edison; he retired in 1986 following a career that spanned thirty-three years with the power company.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing and listening to music with a special preference toward Big Band Music. He had also formerly played the drum with a variety of area bands in his younger days.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years Juanita (nee Toth), his son Greg (Kim) Stutt of Lorain, grandsons Sean and Greg both also of Lorain , and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl A. Stutt, Sr., his mother Fern B. Stutt (nee Allen), by his brother Tim Murphy, and by sisters Naomi M. Romeyn, Elaine Hronec, and Betty Greenoe.
Visitation will be Sunday June 9th from 4 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. , Lorain . The Reverend Bob Daugherty will officiate.
The family encourages contributions in Manny’s memory to American Legion Post # 30 in Lorain .
