Anne Kundrat, 87, Touched the Lives of Many

Photo of Anne Kundrat Anne Kundrat (nee Nash), age 87, of Amherst, joined her loving husband, George, in heaven in the early morning hours of Tuesday June 11th, 2013 following a brief illness.

She was born in Salemville, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1925 and grew up in New Alexandria. Anne was a graduate of Greensburg High School.

She had been a resident of Amherst since 1960 moving there from Cleveland.

Mrs. Kundrat was an active parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church and had been a long-time member of the Altar and Rosary Society there. She was a familiar volunteer in the kitchen at the church assisting in the catering of wedding receptions, as well as other social and fund-raising events. She had also dedicated countless hours to the parish’s bingo program.

In her free time Anne enjoyed crocheting, cooking, playing cards, playing bingo, and bowling. She was also a past member of the Senior Citizens of Amherst (S.C.O.A.), as well as the Seniors Social Group at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Anne was always willing to help others whenever and wherever needed; she touched the lives of many people.

She is survived by her son John M. Kundrat (Lisa) residing in Ellicott City, Maryland, by her daughter Joanne M. Kundrat residing in Brookeville, Maryland, and by grandchildren Nicholas, Christina, Gabrielle, and Gina.

She was preceded in death by her husband George in 2010, by her father John Nash (Hnas), by her mother Anna Nash (nee Wasil), by brothers Joseph and John Nash, and by her sister Katherine Wasick.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. The St. Nicholas Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 6:45 p.m. that evening; a Parastas service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday beginning with Panachida services at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. The Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 West 40th Street. The Very Reverend Nicholas R.A. Rachford, Pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
